DHS CRCL Statement in Support of AAPI Communities Consistent with President Biden's statement in "Memorandum Condemning and Combating Racism, Xenophobia, and Intolerance Against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States," the Department of Homeland Security's Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL) condemns the recent hateful attacks against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States. CRCL remains dedicated to advancing inclusion and belonging, as well as protection of civil rights and civil liberties, for people of all races, national origins, and ethnicities. CRCL's mission is to promote respect for and inclusion of civil rights and civil liberties into all Department policies and activities and to preserve the homeland by protecting the diverse communities that make up the United States of America.
