Jesus´ heart goes out to the people. They do not know which way to turn. Everyone seems to be telling them what to do and how to do it. Yet their lives seem empty and meaningless. Even their religion only channels them into a way of life. Nothing fills the empty hole inside. Who can tell if we are talking of Jesus´ day or ours?
We were made with a special place deep in our souls. This central core knows it belongs to God. Some choose to ignore it or place other things of importance there. That can only come with troublesome unrest. Yet peace floods its rightful home when God´s Spirit is welcomed in.
Christ sees all that tugs at the attention and hearts of men. There is no end to the many influences of our day, each pulling us in every other direction. Christ sees our dilemma. His heart yearns to heal us. In this current turmoil, nothing would help us more than to have our Savior near. Pray that we throw these hearts open and embrace the Son of God!
Dear Jesus, we need help to navigate this maze through life. Be our Shepherd. Take us where only You can. Lead us ever closer to our Heavenly Father. Heal us from our distractions and diseases. We are dying for spiritual peace. Be the presence that comforts us and walks us safely home. Amen
John 3:16-17 ESV / "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might besaved through him.
Ephesians 6:12 ESV / For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Acts 4:12 ESV / And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Psalm 23:2 ESV / He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.
