Dear Friend, Sorry to say it, but the influence of Christianity upon modern society continues to decline. That's not good news, but it's true, nonetheless. Hopefully, Living as Salt and Light, the three-part Teaching Legacy series we have selected for the next few months, will help to reverse the trend. In Part 1 of this series, Light of the World, Derek Prince makes many compelling points—all taken directly from his book, Living as Salt and Light. Here is an example: Jesus declared, "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world" (John 9:5). But now that He is not physically in the world, we are His representatives. Therefore, in His place, we are the light of the world. If we do not give light, there is no other source to which the world can turn or look for light. This means that the world is totally dependent upon Christians for light. That's quite a solemn responsibility, isn't it? Here at Derek Prince Ministries, we take very seriously the mandate Jesus gave us to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. We know you do as well. That is our reason for featuring this series. It is also why we are offering you an additional free resource, "Salt, Light, and a City on a Hill." This audio message by Derek relates directly to this month's teaching segment. It is yours free, just use the download link below—our gift to you, in thanks for all you do for us. Derek Prince's slogan for the ministry that bears his name is: Reaching the Unreached and Teaching the Untaught. We trust this teaching will reach you in a new and fresh way, inspiring a deeper look at the mandate you and I carry to be salt and light to the nation in which we live.
