We could have never anticipated how much our world could change. We find ourselves in a completely different world, in a very different place. Something new began – at first in quiet isolation during our sheltering in place – and then a strange quietness. We heard the phrase "new normal" tossed around. But those words weren't words from our Heavenly Father. His desire for you was never to be normal, to live in the normal or to experience normal. He is a God of new beginnings. He desires to take you on new and extraordinary adventures in Him. God is not calling you to return to the way it was before the global pandemic. He wants you to step out into the new – to stand in faith and declare that the old is passed away and the new has come. "Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness" (Proverbs 26:11 CEV). It's a new season, a new beginning and it's time for a new you. Our verse today calls for you to let go of the past, to turn loose of the way you used to do things. God wants to turn your wasteland into a flourishing stream. He wants you to gain a new perspective. He is holding a new and different experience for you. It's time to rise up, to take a stand and declare a new you … a new life … and a new world. Become more determined than ever to never return to your old ways. Something exciting and new is going on in your life and in your world. What does God want to do? Open the door and step across the threshold to the glorious new. Today's One Thing What passions were stirred during the dark and quiet seasons of silence? What was God saying and speaking to you? Bring this up in your conversations with God today. Keep this question before you and listen intently to what He has to say.
